Scalp Care with Lynda

Lynda-e1414082914499-214x300I don’t know about you but I don’t like being a slick chick! In order to get the best grip out of my gripper here’s how I take care of my scalp and Gripper™!

Every night I wash the silicone perimeter of my Gripper™ using a mild shampoo, cloth and warm water. This will rid the silicone of any oils and dead skin cells accumulated during the day. I use this same technique on my scalp every day.  Taking care of your scalp is very important! I use Clinique exfoliating daily scrub on my scalp each time I shower.

Here is my daily routine:

1. It’s important to apply exfoliator to wet skin, so exfoliating in the shower or bath is best.

2. Never use a body exfoliator on your scalp, they are too harsh. Instead pick a facial exfoliator to use.

3. Apply exfoliator to your scalp and gently rub in circular motions to buff off dead skin cells.

4. Rinse well

In the morning I start with a quick wipe of my scalp with Clinique’s skin toner to rid my skin of excess oils.

Why toner?

It gives your skin pH balance. Our skin is naturally acidic, normally with a pH balance of between five and six. After cleansing, due to the alkaline nature of soap, the pH balance of skin gets disturbed. When this happens your skin needs to work overtime to restore the balance and that may result in oil, but using a toner helps to restore this balance quickly.

Lastly, although it may sound strange I also put a small amount of antiperspirant on my head every morning.

These steps with give you continuous grip throughout the day!
